Choose your perfect bike.

A choice of excellent bikes are available to rent, with your choice of a Road, Gravel, or Electric-assist Bike.

A form to reserve your choice of bike will be sent to you after sign-up.

Bike options

1. Aluminum road bike with carbon fork and seat-stays.
2. Top-of-the-line full-carbon road bike
3. Gravel bike: new top of line, like a road bike but can comfortably handle dirt and gravel roads.
4. "E-bike" (electric-pedal-assisted bike): which can make all routes accessible to everyone regardless of fitness or experience level.

Left to right: Michael has a regular road bike, Fausto is on a carbon, and Giudi is rockin' an e-bike! (note: most of the e-bikes are hybrids. Hers happens to be mountain-bike style.)

NOTE: For the Umbria trip any type of bike or e-bike, hybrid, road or one of the new Gravel Bikes, a comfortable fusion. The surface is mostly asphalt with occasional stretches of unpaved but nothing major.

An important note on the electric assisted bikes

We highly recommended these as an excellent choice for anyone who doesn’t cycle much or have time to prepare.

E-bikes are all the rage in Europe. Several people on last year's trip used them, and they are just great. Don't get the wrong impression – you still have to pedal, but these bikes allow you to work as much or little as you want because you get to choose the amount of battery-boost to your pedals. So you still get a great workout – only, if you want help up the hills – it’s there. They have them in all sizes. In Europe, e-bikes are considered a hip choice, not a cop-out!

We’ll be doing rides on 3 -4 days during our week. Most rides are fairly flat though Montefalco is a nice climb. The e-bike option makes it accessible, or you can challenge yourself!
